Her father, I Love You, World Cup winner and father of many good winners, is a son of Almé, undisputed European chef de race and of Elyria, mother of Jolly Good, owner of the world record for Indoors Puissance, and grandmother of Alligator Fontaine, Champion of France 1999, international Grand Prix winner and a well reputed stallion.
On her mother line, Galatée du Defey is a granddaughter of Narcisse, mother of the world-famous Flambeau C, of Dauphin XII, of Baladin II, of Roi du Manoir and of Camera; It has been said about Narcisse that if the “chef de race” concept could be applied to a mare it would be applied to her, since she had 15 offspring, 10 good broodmares and the stallions Muguet du Manoir and Alcamera de Moyon, who was exported to Mexico and has an excellent performance. As a grand dam, she produced the international jumpers Urioso du Manoir, ridden by Patrice Deleveau, Orchestra ridden by Mc Lain Ward, and Valiska Forever ridden by Patrice Lejeune.
Galatée du Defey is a big mare with excellent conformation. She started training in France with great promise, but had to be retired because of an injury and bred.
