His father, Calando I (by Cor de la Bryere), was German National Champion in 1984 and that same year was in the ribbons in the Grand Prix of Rome, Dublin and Calgary. His best known offspring are: Canaris, Castor, Careful, who took part in the Barcelona Olympics for the Belgian team ridden by Evelyn Blatton and Cilton, ridden in the international level by Jos Lansink, and recently in Argentina by Ricardo Kierkegaard. Calando I is also the father of Perra, the mother of Carthago Z great international competitor and excellent stallion.
His mother, Vivelli, is a daughter of Ladalco by Ladykiller and a brother of Landgraf and her bottom line comes from Ritter, Rhadames, Ramzes. Vivelli jumped at the national level up to 1,50.
Herr Calando had a good showjumping performance in Argentina as a young horse and was later re-exported, but left behind some very good foals that were prized at the final Haras Río Bravo auction.
